The following detailed information on data protection explains which personal data is collected on our websites and which personal data we process and use in what way.

This Privacy Policy applies to data, including personal data, that may be collected about you by B. Braun South Africa. Personal data is data or a combination of individual datasets by which you can be identified.
We gather, process and use your personal data in compliance with the data protection laws of the Republic of South Africa. Under no circumstances shall we pass on your personal data to third parties outside the B. Braun Group for advertising or marketing purposes without your consent.
As part of the B. Braun Group, a group of international companies, we use external service providers. If the data being processed is personal data, appropriate contractual agreements have been made and organizational measures implemented in accordance with the applicable law to ensure the protection of your data.
Within our company, compliance with legal requirements and with this privacy statement is monitored by our data protection officers. Our employees have been trained to handle personal data and have been obligated, in writing, to comply with the data protection regulations.
As a general rule, our website can be used without providing personal data. Insofar as personal data (e.g. name, address or e-mail addresses) are collected, this is always done, as far as possible, on a voluntary basis.
We would like to point out that data transmission on the internet (e.g. when communicating by e-mail) may involve gaps in security. Without this data, we will generally not be able to enter into the business relationship with you and fulfil the obligations that arise from it.
This privacy policy applies to all data collected and processed by B. Braun South Africa. In a few cases, links will send you from the B. Braun South Africa website directly to the website of another provider, the content of which shall then be under the responsibility of the respective provider. We transfer your data to countries outside the European Union / European Economic Area (third countries) only to the extent that

We have taken extensive precautions to protect the security of your data. Your data, which you have entered e.g. in HTML websites (contact forms) are transmitted in an encrypted form (SSL - Secure Socket Layer) via the public data network to B. Braun.
This website uses SSL encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as for example, the inquiries that you send to us as the website provider. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from "http://" to "https://" and by the lock symbol in your browser line.
If SSL encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
If you submit inquiries to us via the contact form, we store your information, including the contact information you provide there, in order to process your inquiry and in the event of any follow-up inquiries. We do not share this data without your consent. The data that arises in this context is deleted once storage thereof is no longer necessary, or processing thereof is restricted if there are statutory storage obligations.
By giving us your consent when contacting us via our form, you have opted to be informed about future offers and products (e.g. newsletters, forms, etc.) from the B. Braun Group. In this context your personal data may be transferred to the United States to a contractually bound and carefully selected service provider. The level of data protection in the United Stated cannot be compared with European standards, which is why an adequate level of data protection cannot be guaranteed at all times. In order to guarantee the security of your data as well as possible, B. Braun takes the necessary protective measures. For example, your data is transferred to the United States in accordance with the principle of purpose limitation and data minimisation with the result that only the information that is absolutely necessary and has been provided by you is stored.
Use of the Salesforce Marketing Cloud
We use the remarketing functions of the Salesforce Marketing Cloud of the service provider salesforce.com, Inc. The Landmark @ One Market Street, Suite 300, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA ("Salesforce"). If you have given your consent to receive our newsletters and visit our website via a newsletter, web beacons are used. This enables us to track the effectiveness of our newsletters, e.g. whether you have opened an email or which part of the newsletter was particularly interesting.
For this purpose, we use e.g. the tracking methods "Email Open Tracking" and "Email Link Tracking".
Email Open Tracking: Here we track whether you have opened the newsletter via the 1x1 pixel in the HTML template described below.
Email Link Tracking: Here we track whether a link was clicked within the email (click-through). For this purpose, the links are converted into trackable links by the Marketing Cloud.
Salesforce uses so-called web beacons in the majority of the emails sent. Web beacons (also called ClearGIFs or tracking pixels) are small graphics (GIF files approximately 1×1 in size) that are used on websites or in HTML emails, among other things. Web beacons fulfil similar functions as cookies, but are not noticeable to the user. In particular, web beacons can be used to obtain information about whether the email has been opened and whether the user's system is capable of receiving HTML emails. No personal data is collected via the web beacon.
If you would not like to receive email messages with web beacons, you can alternatively receive your emails in text format (not in the HTML format) by changing the appropriate settings within your email client and by blocking the receipt of HTML formatted mails.
Your personal data will not be forwarded to third parties (i.e. outside the B. Braun Group) unless you have given us your prior consent. Excluded from this provision is the forwarding to service partners, such as for example parcel service providers or freight forwarders, if the transmission is necessary for the order processing or delivery of the goods.
The logistics service providers receive the data required for delivery for their own use. We limit the transferred data to the necessary extent.
In addition, other service providers are involved, such as IT service providers or the hosting service provider for the website. These companies work for B. Braun within the framework of so-called processing on behalf. Braun and may only use personal data in accordance with our instructions. B. Braun has obligated these service providers to the General Data Protection Regulation as per contract and monitors these companies.
Further excluded is the transfer of data for the management of orders, the delivery of goods or services, and for accounting purposes within the B. Braun Group. To transfer the data, it may be stored in the cloud application salesforce.com, Inc. The Landmark @ One Market Street, Suite 300, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA ("Salesforce") (see section 15). Beyond this, no data is transferred to third parties without your consent.
In all these cases, the data is transferred in accordance with the applicable national and European data protection provisions; the scope of the data transferred is limited to the necessary minimum.
By signing up to receive a newsletter that is offered, you give your consent to the processing of your name and e-mail address and information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the e-mail address provided. You are also confirming that you agree to receive the newsletter.
In the case of mailing, your address is also required. Your data is processed exclusively for the requested newsletter; your data is not used for any other purpose. Your data is also not passed on to third parties. Our registration system ensures that you only receive the selected newsletter by sending you a registration e-mail with a confirmation link (known as “double opt-in” procedure). You can withdraw your consent to the processing of personal data, the e-mail address and its use for sending the newsletter at any time, for example via the "unsubscribe" link in the newsletter.
If you order the newsletter via our contact form, we process your request in our Salesforce Marketing Cloud (see section 15).

When you register to receive free information (e.g. download a white paper, attend a webinar/event), you give your consent to the processing of your name and email address and information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the email address provided. You also confirm that in return for providing this information, you give your consent to the use of your data for marketing purposes. For this purpose, we process your request in our Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Sales Cloud (see section 15).
Your data is processed exclusively for the requested information and for marketing purposes; your data is not used for any other purpose. Your data is also not be passed on to third parties. This website uses Adobe Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Adobe Systems Software Ireland Limited ("Adobe"). Adobe Analytics uses cookies. If the information regarding use of the website that is generated by the cookie is transferred to an Adobe server, then the settings ensure that the IP address is anonymised before geolocation and replaced by a generic IP address before storage. Adobe utilizes this information on behalf of the operator of this website in order to evaluate usage of this website by the user, to compile reports on website activity for the website operator and to perform additional services connected with use of the website and the Internet in respect of the website operator. The IP address transferred by your browser as part of Adobe Analytics is not combined with other data from Adobe. You can prevent the storage of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly. However, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all the functions of this website. We have concluded a data processing contract with Adobe and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Adobe Analytics.
In order to protect contact forms on our website from spam and misuse, we use the "Friendly Captcha" service from Friendly Captcha GmbH (Germany). By using this service, it is possible to distinguish whether the corresponding input is of human origin or is abusive due to automated machine processing.
The tool prevents automated and abusive requests by so-called "bots". As part of this process, your IP address is captured by Friendly Captcha to send a cryptographic task to your device. This task is solved in the background and as soon as it is solved, a confirmation is sent by Friendly Captcha to the server that this is a natural person.

This website uses Lead Forensics, a B2B sales and marketing enablement tool. It is operated by Lead Forensics, UK Headquarters, Communication House, 26 York Street, London, W1U 6PZ, UK.
The Lead Forensics tool uses a tracking code for identifying companies visiting our websites by their business IP addresses. This is not the same as cookies. The Lead Forensics tracking code only provides information that is readily available in the public domain. It does not and cannot provide individual, personal or sensitive data about who has visited our website. Under no circumstances will the data be used to personally identify individual visitors. If IP addresses are collected, they are anonymised immediately after collection. The information generated by the Lead Forensics tracking code is transferred to the Lead Forensics tool and processed and stored in the UK in a secure environment.
The Lead Forensics Tool does not provide us with IP addresses. It provides us with information about which companies have visited our website, the date and duration of their visit and the web pages they visit. This information allows us to analyse the use of our website and eventually contact these companies about their experience or for sales purposes. As an international company, to be able to guarantee you the best service, we transfer this information to our subsidiaries and distributors as necessary. Beyond this purpose, no personal data is passed on to third parties.

This website uses Adobe Target, a service provided by Adobe Systems Software Ireland Limited ("Adobe") to analyse and optimise the website.
With Adobe Target, so-called A/B tests or multivariate tests can be performed on the website. The software thereby controls a variant which is modified in comparison to the original version of the website (different design or content). In this way, the visitor's preferred variant can be found out and the website can be optimised according to the visitor’s needs. Facebook Conversion Tracking
Within our website, we use the "Facebook pixel" of Meta Platforms Inc (USA). This allows users' behaviour to be tracked after they have seen or clicked on a Facebook ad. LinkedIn Insight Conversion Tracking
We use the LinkedIn Insight Conversion Tool of LinkedIn Inc. (USA), which allows us to obtain information about the use of our website and to present advertising content that is tailored to your interests on other websites. For this purpose, a cookie with a validity of 120 days is set in your browser, which enables LinkedIn to recognise you when you visit a website. LinkedIn uses this data to create anonymous ad activity reports and information about how you interact with our website.

Google Ads & Conversion Tracking
We place Google Ads advertisements to draw attention to our products. . We use "Google Conversion Tracking", a service provided by Google Inc (USA). These ads are displayed when users enter search queries on websites of the Google advertising network. We have the option of combining our ads with certain search terms. We use cookies to place advertisements based on users' previous visits on our website.
When a user clicks on an ad, a cookie is set on the user's computer by Google. Further information on the cookie technology used can also be found in Google's information on website statistics and privacy policy.
With the help of this technology, Google and B. Braun are notified when a user clicks on an advertisement and is redirected to our websites. The information obtained in this context is exclusively used for statistical analysis to optimise the ads. We do not receive any information that personally identifies a user. The statistics provided to us by Google include the total number of users who clicked on one of our ads and, if applicable, whether they were redirected to a page on our website that was tagged with a conversion tag. We use Funnelytics by Funnelytics Inc (Canada). This is a technology service that helps us better understand our users' experiences (how they navigate websites, how they react to different websites, what content they like and dislike, etc.). This allows us to build and maintain our service with feedback from users. Funnelytics uses cookies to collect data about user behaviour and devices used.
The data collected by Funnelytics are IP address (captured and stored in anonymised form only), device type (unique device identifiers), browser information and geographical location (country only).

Our website uses functions of the LinkedIn network. The provider is LinkedIn Inc (USA). Our website uses functions of the XING network. The provider is XING AG (Germany Each time you access one of our pages that contains XING functions, a connection is established to servers of XING. YouTube Plugin
Our website uses plugins from the YouTube site operated by Google. The operator of the websites is YouTube LLC (USA). When you visit one of our websites fitted with a YouTube plugin, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. It communicates to the Youtube server which of our websites you visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account, you enable YouTube to link your behaviour directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

Google Maps
In order to show you interactive maps directly on the website and to make the comfortable use of the map function possible, we integrate Google Maps from the service provider Google LLC (USA) on our websites. In order to use these services, the IP address of the user is transferred to Google. The IP address is required for the display of this content, but is only used to deliver the content. Your location data will not be collected by Google without your consent (usually part of your device settings).

We use the sharing button of the messenger service WhatsApp from the provider Meta Platforms Inc (USA). The sharing buttons allow you to share a post or website using WhatsApp. The WhatsApp sharing button is merely a link to the provider WhatsApp. Therefore, no data flows to WhatsApp simply by calling up our website.
If you actively use the WhatsApp button, a direct connection is established between your browser and the WhatsApp server via the plugin. WhatsApp thereby receives the information that you have visited our website with your IP address. If you click on the WhatsApp button while you are logged into your WhatsApp account, you can share the content of our website via your WhatsApp profile. This enables WhatsApp to link your visit to our website with your WhatsApp profile. B. Braun uses the ad format "Lead Gen Forms" on LinkedIn and so-called "Lead Ads" on Facebook. Lead Gen Forms and Leads Ads are forms that have already been partially pre-filled with LinkedIn/Facebook profile data, with which users can register for a B. Braun event or request contact depending on the content of the form. Users who have filled out and sent such a form on LinkedIn or Facebook are considered data subjects of the processing and can assert various rights against the controllers (more information see section 27). Purpose of data processing: We use the LinkedIn tools to find suitable contacts for us and our products and services and to contact them directly via the integrated messaging function on LinkedIn with the intention of presenting our products and services. For internal surveys we use the software "Forms" from Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland. The data is stored on Microsoft's servers within the EU and processed by us as data controller.

Interaction with experts
Via the Extranet you can exchange and network with employees of B. Braun. You will receive new information within the framework of your business network with B. Braun employees by e-mail to the address provided by you.
Log files
Please note that in addition to the data you enter, the IP address from which you visit our extranet is also stored and may be used to secure claims and for evidentiary purposes. Further processing of the IP address data does not take place; instead, logging occurs exclusively within the scope of preventive measures. Access to information and email notifications
After successful identification and registration, you will receive access at My B. Braun to various information, documents and applications.
Free e-mail messages will be offered to you in My B. Braun. For this purpose you must specify an e-mail address solely used by you or an e-mail address allocated to you personally for your sole use for the receipt of these e-mails. Specifying other e-mail addresses, particularly those of third parties, is not permitted. By entering this e-mail address you declare that you agree with the processing of these data.
